1-800-FREE411 now allows you to get free driving directions sent to your cell phone via SMS text messaging. The company has been around for quite a while now, giving lost people a way to find phone numbers for free. And of course, “free” services are not usually completely free. They will allow you to get driving directions but you’ll have to see some advertisement first.
IntoMobile has more: “To use the new SMS driving directions service, callers need only speak their starting address — i. e. “2594 Broadway” or “16th and Washington” — and receive turn-by-turn directions by text message within seconds. The service will be available in SF Bay Area, Chicago and Los Angeles starting March 1, with nationwide availability to follow a month later.
